Lion's mane (Hericium erinaceus) is an edible white mushroom with long, soft spines. Ra Hygge uses lion's mane fruiting body extract in coffee, alcohol free liquid extract, powdered extract and tea.
Lion's mane is added to coffee, tea and drinks as part of a morning or workday ritual. In Asia it has been used in food and teas for centuries. Most Ra Hygge customers choose lion's mane for the morning or midday.
Coffee: 14 g per cup, we suggest two cups a day. Liquid extract: 1 to 3 ml (3 ml gives 360 mg of extract) in coffee, tea, juice or water. Powder: half a teaspoon (about 690 mg) in a drink.
Usually in the morning or at midday. The coffee suits the morning. The powder and drops are caffeine free, so they also suit midday and the afternoon.
Yes. Lion's Mane coffee is real Arabica coffee and contains caffeine like regular coffee. The mushrooms themselves contain no caffeine, so the alcohol free lion's mane extract is caffeine free.
Mushroom coffee is real roasted coffee with added extract from the fruiting bodies of edible mushrooms. Ra Hygge coffee is also low in acidity (Lion's Mane coffee has a pH of up to 6.0) because it is treated after roasting with a method patented in Finland.
Not really. In the cup you taste a medium roast, soft coffee and a light earthy umami. The low acidity makes the taste rounder.
The liquid extract (100 ml) is concentrated 12:1 and dosed with a pipette; one bottle equals 150 g of dried lion's mane. The powdered extract (40 g, about 57 servings) dissolves instantly and suits smoothies, cocoa and coffee.
If you take medication, are pregnant or breastfeeding, talk to your doctor before using lion's mane products.
