What is functional mushroom coffee?
Functional mushroom coffee is real roasted coffee with an added extract from the fruiting bodies of edible mushrooms. Ra Hygge uses organic Peruvian Arabica, roasted in small batches in Sweden and treated after roasting with a method patented in Finland, so the acidity stays low and the taste smooth.

What is Ra Hygge?
Ra Hygge is a Nordic brand founded in 2013 by Irina Sandberg, whose low acid specialty coffee is roasted in Sweden and blended with functional mushroom extracts. In Estonia, Ra Hygge products are sold by Smartestar OÜ.
What is lion's mane?
Hericium erinaceusLion's mane is an edible white mushroom with long, soft spines. Ra Hygge adds lion's mane fruiting body extract to medium roast coffee, which gives the cup an earthy umami taste.

Real roasted coffee
Organic Arabica from small farmer cooperatives in Peru. We roast in small batches at our own roastery in Staffanstorp, southern Sweden.

Low acidity
Lion's Mane coffee has a pH of up to 6.0. Regular coffee is usually between pH 4.0 and 5.0. The post roast treatment is patented in Finland (2024).

We use fruiting body mushroom extract. Every batch is tested in a laboratory.

How to brew mushroom coffee

Measure
14 g of coffee per cup.

Brew as usual
Espresso machine, moka pot, filter or French press. Grind the beans just before.
